Proposition 1
Teachers are committed to students and their learning.
Make knowledge accessible, embrace diversity and equity, understand the learning process and take into account student motivation.
Rationale- Building relationships and learner profiles is key to successfully educating learners. I have selected two artifacts to showcase how I am committed to students and their learning. The first a power point focuses on optimizing student behaviors, the second is a paper I wrote on how I would approach a student who has had inappropriate behaviors. I have a firm belief in order to successfuly teach, motivate, and empower students relationships and a strong knowledge of the learner needs to be in place. As an educator it is my job to not only teach my students but through building relationships show my commitment to them and their learning.

Reflection- In reviewing the power point on optimizing positive student behavior it reinforced my belief that in order to effectively educate a strong foundation must first be built. Learners need to feel that as an educator I care about their individual needs. I still believe in creating an environment where students from all backgrounds and diversity's feel accepted, welcome, and their education is relevant to them. The power point illustrates the need to accept each others diversity and to instill the virtues of good citizenship. Upon rereading the document I wrote in regards to reacting to negative student behavior, it showcases a belief that I have in reclaiming relationships and taking the time to get to the "heart" of the issue. See views and beliefs through different lenses and continual ask yourself where is this person coming from and why are they behaving the way they are. We are a product of our environment and everyone's has a unique outlook.
